'The Devil to Pay' is a mystery novel set in Los Angeles, involving the mystery writer Ellery Queen. He helps his police inspector father solve confusing murders, and in this novel, he must sit in on an auction and watch as events turn both ghastly and gruesome.
Ellery Queen was a pseudonym created by American crime fiction writers Frederic Dannay and Manfred Bennington Lee. Under this name, the two writers wrote over thirty novel and several short story collections.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Some fading to the margins and particularly to the spine. Very minimal bumping to extremities and head and tail of spine. Light spotting to text block. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout.
