The second edition of the work. Dated from copac. Collated complete with sixteen full page monochrome plates. Henry Arthur Tilley was the president of the Old English Sheepdog club and the founder of the American Old English Sheepdog club. In this charming work he demonstrates his knowledge of the breed discussing a wide range of care and showing techniques for the breed, alongside a section for those new to the breed. An important and early guide to the care of this breed of dogs.

Condition

In a blue cloth binding. Externally smart with shelfwear to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine, resulting in some slight loss to the spine. Slight sunning to the spine. Light marks to the boards. Ink signature for 'F. A. Gadadon to front free endpaper. Modern ink marks to rear free endpaper. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just some marginal age toning and the odd spot.
