This book has been edited from John Frampton's translation in Elizabethan times, still using original expressions of a time when "English was a language of the morning for everybody."
In the publisher's original cloth binding and clipped dustwrapper. With previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper: "Charles P. Wallace in memory of 1s & 2nd June 1939 from ADW."
In the publisher's original dark green cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Externally, in lovely condition with minor shelfwear only. Dustwrapper is clipped and smart, with minor shelfwear and minor closed tears to head and tail of spine, repaired by previous owner. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Faint odd spots to front cover and slightly sunned to spine. Internally, firmly bound. A few scattered spots, particularly in the first and last few leaves. Faint spotting to edges, affecting only the occasional page. Including eleven maps and other illustrations.
