What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Bound in the publisher's original pictorial paper wraps.

Comprised of No. 5117, Volume 190 of The London Illustrated News and The Strand Coronation Souvenir of the same year.

Both works cover the Coronation of George VI and his wife Elizabeth, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth, which took place on the 12th May, 1927.

Filled with bright illustrations, the Coronation Souvenir explores the meaning of the coronation, the new King George VI, how the kings have been crowned in the past, and the Coronation service itself.

Also profusely illustrated with photos and sketches of the royals and the event, this issue of The Illustrated London News focuses largely on the ceremony itself, as well as presenting what this will mean for the Empire.

With original advertisements to the front and rear of The London Illustrated News.
