The fascinating autobiography of the British conservationist, fur trapper, and writer who disguised himself as a Native American man. While he achieved fame as a conservationist during his life, after his death, the revelation that he was not Indigenous, along with other autobiographical fabrications within this work, negatively affected his reputation.
This signed eighth impression was published the year before his death.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with discolouration and spotting to back strip. Small stamp to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Signed to title page. Pages bright, with spotting throughout.
