What Our Customers Say...
Colour Plates, First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding
Being two works. The first is 'Coronation Season Royal Opera House Covent Garden' and is for June-October, the fourth season. It looks at the Ballet Russe's fourth annual visit to Covent Garden and analyses their success and performance with many illustrations of the scenery, the costume and the performers. The second work is a programme of the 'Ballets Russses de Monte Carlo' with images of many performances including 'Cotillon', 'La Concurrence', and Les Sylphides'.
Both volumes are beautifully illustrated.
From the library of Joan Hewson, the Renowned Cecchetti School of Dance Instructor. Joan left a legacy of numerous successful professional dancers from across the world. She was greatly appreciated by her students, as is evident from the many gifts that form her library. Loosely inserted are several newspaper clippings referring to the ballets cited in these volumes.
In the original paper wraps. One volume is in a ring binder form. Externally, generally smart. Both wraps to 'Ballets Russes' are detached but present. Creasing to these wraps also. Internally, both volumes are firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Just the odd spots to pages.
