The first UK edition of the fifth published in the series of Babar the elephant. 

Babar's Friend Zephir follows the story of Zephir the monkey and his search for a lost princess.

Jean de Brunhoff was a French writer and illustrator renowned for creating the stories of Babar the elephant, first published in 1931. He sadly passed away at the age of thirty-seven due to tuberculosis. Jean wrote and illustrated seven Babar's books, and the series was continued by his son, Laurent de Brunhoff.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding, with pictorial boards. Externally charming with minor shelfwear and slight rubbing to extremities. Internally, binding is slightly loose but firm. Pages are bright and clean.
