What Our Customers Say...
Description
Fine Binding, Limited Edition, Signed
Giuseppe Orioli was best known for privately publishing the unexpurgated first edition of D.H. Lawrence's noted 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'. He also had a long association with George Norman Douglas.
Following D.H.Lawrence's conventional attempts to get his work published in Britain and the U.S Norman Douglas urged Lawrence to get the book published privately in Florence.
From the library of Allen and Beryl Freer. The Freers were avid art collectors, and acquired quite the selection over the twentieth century, of works mostly bought from the artists. Allen organised many exhibitions of artists he admired and published several works on art.
This is a limited edition of Orioli's memoirs, one of only 300 copies printed and signed by the author. A beautifully bound copy of this scarce work.
