A memoir of time spent voyaging across the world by Helmer Hanssen, a Norwegian sailor, pilot and polar explorer remembered as a participant in three of the polar expeditions led by Roald Amundsen. Hanssen was one of the first five explorers to reach the South Pole. With a forward by Vice-Admiral Edward Ratcliffe Garth Russell Evans, a Royal Navy officer and Antarctic explorer.
Condition
In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and boards. The odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot and light age toning to the endpapers.
