The first impression of the new and definitive edition of Travels in Arabia Deserta by Charles M. Doughty in the original publisher's cloth bindings. Complete in two volumes. With an introduction by T. E. Lawrence, fellow travel writer and war hero.  Volume I includes nine monochrome plates, including two folding plates and one colour folding map. Volume II includes a colour folding map. Collated, complete. Charles M. Doughty was an English explorer, writer and poet. He is best known for this work first published in 1888.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth bindings. Externally there is some minor bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and to the extremities. The gilt lettering to the spines has been rubbed. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some occasional spots.
