This study and work highlights an appreciation for the efforts which went into the construction of the King's Highways to ensure people's safety. This is after the UK government's efforts to reduce unemployment and make roads safer in the 1920s and early 1930s.
Illustrated with twenty folding monochrome plates and a frontispiece. Collated, complete.
Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper from 1937.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. The dust wrapper is slightly worn to the extremities with a few small tears. There is a closed tear across the front board. To the binding, there is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
