The first edition of this work, a scarce copy. Collingwood Ingram travels Spain through Tenerife, French Polynesia through Tahiti and Bora Bora, Japan through Kyushi, New Zealand and Corsica among others, providing more accurately a journal of a wandering naturalist, with details on the ornithology and botany, unusual places, anecdotes, and more. 

Illustrated with photographic plates. 

Collingwood Ingram was a British ornithologist known for his work on Japanese flowering cherries as well as his passion and talent for gardening.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally generally smart with minor shelf wear and minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, light soiling to the boards and spine, a touch of darkening to the spine. Previous ownership inscription to the half title, undated. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting scattered to the occasional page. Illustrated with black and white photographic plates.
