Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

First UK Edition.

In the publisher's original cloth binding.

This is a wonderful copy containing Lawrence's English translation of Homer's epic poem, the 'Odyssey'. This is one of the most significant works of the Western canon, and relates the journey of Odyssey as he wanders and attempts to make his way back home.

T. E. Lawrence (1888-1935) was a British archaeologist, army officer, and diplomat. He became renowned for his role in the Arab Revolt, where he helped fight against the Ottoman Empire. His most significant texts include 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom', and a translation of 'The Forest Giant'.

Prior owner's ink inscription to front endpaper, belonging to prior owner D. P. Wolfertan.

Collated, complete.
