Very scarce work. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and many in-text images. A collection of charming children's stories with titles including: At Grips with a Eagle, The Cottage in the Wood, The Girl Who Touched Wood, The Pedlar's Basket, and Koozeh the Witch. With contributions front writers such as: A. E. Seymour, Irene Boyd, Frances Cowen, Ann Vaughan, May Wynne, Lilias Small, W. Kersley Holmes, and Diana Pares. Dated from the British Library.
Condition
In the original pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor chipping to the extremities. Light sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. A 1" closed tear to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and the odd small handling mark. Minor age toning to the endpapers.
