What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Folding Maps, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon
General Sir Charles Harington offers an account of the personality and achievements of Senior British Army officer Herbert Plumer in this uncommon biography. A first edition, with eight plates, and three folding maps, collated and complete. Harington served under Plumer as Major-General of the Second Army in Ypres in the First World War, and his twenty two chapter biography is filled with admiration for the Viscount. Alongside chapters on the Matabele War, and the important victory at the Battle of Messines, Harington also details Plumer's role as Governor of Malta, before some more personal chapters about his sense of humour and his love of cricket to the rear.
