Peter Anson (1889-1975), who was the son of Admiral Charles E. Anson and is collaterally descended from the famous eighteenth-century navigator Lord Anson (often known as the "Father of the British Navy"), was devoted to the sea and ships - particularly to fishing - since his boyhood. Anson was the author of some 40 books and also an accomplished artist whose work was exhibited at the Royal Academy.
