What Our Customers Say...

Description

Illustrated, Leather Binding

A lovely copy of British Insect Life, a work by science writer Edward Step, who published various works on botany, zoology and mycology. This book contains information on butterflies, moths, dragonflies, bees, flies, and all sorts of other insects. It also contains 32 black and white plates of insect photography throughout. There is a coloured frontispiece of a meadow brown butterfly with an intact tissue guard.

Condition

In a quarter calf binding with blue cloth-covered boards. Former owner's bookplate to the front pastedown, J. Talbot Clifton of Kildalton Castle. Spine has faded, as is common with this colour leather. Internally, firmly bound. Scattered spots to the first and last few leaves, otherwise just the odd spot. The protective tissue guard to frontispiece is intact. Spotting to the fore-edge, but it does not affect most pages.
