Three volumes following and delving into the archaeological excavations at Maiden Castle, Dorset. The excavations of the Iron Age hill-fort were led by Mortimer Wheeler, 

The first and second interim reports, published in 1936 and 1936, are reprinted from 'The Antiquaries Journal'. Both reports follow the ongoing excavations at the castle, which were undertaken from 1934 to 1937.

'Maiden Castle Dorset', published in 1943, in a comprehensive discussion of the excavations, and the immense results and discoveries.

'First Interim Report' illustrated with four folding plates, and eight plates.

'Second Interim Report' illustrated with three folding plates, and nine plates.

'Maiden Castle, Dorset', illustrated with a folding plate to the frontispiece, thirteen folding plates, and one-hundred plates. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original paper covered boards, first and second reports in the original paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. 'Maiden Castle Dorest' with light marks and discolouration to the boards and spine. A little wear to the backstrip. Small chip to the rear endpaper. First and Second reports are light discoloured with a few light spots to the wraps. Light edgewear to the wraps. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
