Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, one folding map, twelve colour plates, and eleven monochrome plates. Some of the plates depicts methods of torture and execution undertaken by the Chinese.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Small crack to the front joint. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. Minor marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Small closed tear to the folding map.
