An association copy, inscribed by the daughter-in-law of John Gibson McGregor, who built the ship. Beatrice McGregory married John's son. Her inscription to the front wrap, and to the plate of John Gibson McGregor, stating 'my husband's father'.

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Light tidemarks to the wraps. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front wrap. A couple of minor marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with light tidemarks to the first and last few pages, and a couple of minor spots. Small chip to the tail of page 19/20, no loss of text. Prior owner's ink inscription to one plate.
