A Conservative politician and baronet, Newton hereby compiles a series of letters addressed to his son, introducing him to a "small collection of esteemed books made for him by his father". The work is part of a limited printing of 101 copies, signed by the author, and addressed to one Frank R. Chatham, a collector of books and member of the board of Harrods. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973), a noted book collector and diarist.
Condition
In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally very smart. Some minor wear to spine-label only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout, with the odd spot to the occasional page.
