Edward Keble Chatterton (1878-1944) was a prolific author who wrote chiefly concerning maritime and naval subjects.

In this work, Chatterton discusses ancient and modern sailing models, selecting specimens from private and public collections across Britain, Scandinavia, France, Germany, Holland, Spain and many other regions.
