The third impression, being the first cheap edition. First published February 1933. A scarce edition, with all early editions of this work being uncommon. Lacking the vanishingly scarce original dust wrapper. The eighth novel to feature her protagonist Lord Peter Wimsey, Murder Must Advertise takes place in an advertisement agency, following a suspicious death. Sayers drew from her own experience working as a copyrighter until 1931. By Dorothy Sayers, noted crime writer and one of the Queens of Crime, alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh.
Condition
In the original red cloth binding. Externally generally smart with the odd mark to the boards. Slight splitting to the cloth at the joints and head and tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages age toned with the odd spot, as is expected with this paper type. Prior owner's ink inscription to front free endpaper and label to front pastedown.
