A limited edition to seven hundred and fifty copies, this volume being number one hundred and thirty one. Comprising one of Charles Robert Ashbee's poems inspired by his time in Egypt during the First World War. The poem follows an imaginary dialogue among Akhenaton, Aspasia, Josephus, St. Louis, Saadi, Beatrice d'Este, and Pierpont Morgan. With a brief biography of the characters and seven illustrations.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter paper vellum binding with decorated boards. Externally handsome with minor shelfwear and slight bumping to extremities. Inscribed by a previous owner to front free endpaper "To W Godwin in memory of C R A" dated 23 May 1942. Internally, firmly bound. Minor age toning to pages which remain generally clean throughout. With seven illustrations.
