    Description

    Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

    This volume is the second printing of this book in October 1934, with the first edition being printed in July of 1934. Japan's Place in the World aimed to offer a plain pen picture of Japan, giving insight into the lives of the Japanese with the help of photographs that capture the landscape and people of Japan in a moment of history.  

    Julian Grande was also the writer of a similar novel that considered Geneva and its place in the world called Geneva: Its Place in the World in 1920. 

    This copy includes sixteen photographic plate illustrations. 
    In the original unclipped dustwrapper.
    Collated, complete.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original yellow cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some fading and marks to the boards and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Previous owner inscription to the half title page. Internally, generally firmly bound with generally bright clean pages. Frontispiece is loose but present. Scattered spotting throughout and concentrated to the first few pages. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. Spine is faded and bumped and there are some marks to the wraps.
