Privately printed. In the publisher's original cloth binding. A lovely example of this work in which Christopher Morley writes affectionately about his friend Frank Nelson Doubleday, known by the nickname Effendi. Doubleday was one of the founders of Doubleday & McClure Company the American publisher established in the late 19th century. With a quote by Florence Doubleday to the front of the volumes that reads: 'For those who admired and loved him, we have reprinted this article by Christopher Morley, author and friend'. Christopher Morley was a journalist and author who was a close friend of Doubleday. Includes a copy of a telegraph from Christopher Morley, dated 1934, loosely inserted into the volume.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding, with paper vellum and gilt detailing. Externally generally smart, with minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine, with light fading to the extremities of the front and rear boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Copy of a telegraph by Christopher Morley loosely inserted into the volume.
