The autobiography of Paul Maze, focusing on his experiences on the Western Front during World War One.

With a preface by Winston Churchill. Maze and Churchill met in the trenches and became lifelong friends, after sharing their love of painting. Maze became Churchill's artistic mentor.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, seven plates, and five in-text maps.

Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few minor marks to the boards and spine. A touch of fading to the spine. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few light spots.
