What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
Two illustrated works about British textile designer, prominent member of the Arts and Crafts movement, and poet William Morris, published by London's Victoria & Albert Museum.
The first work present is the scarce 1934 catalogue of an exhibition held to celebrate the 'Centenary of William Morris', containing an introduction to the man and 11 plates depicting his work in such fields as stained glass, tapestries and furniture making.
The second work, published in 1958, consists of 27 captioned plates depicting Morris' textile and wallpaper designs, published by the V&A because, in their view, 'there is probably a greater interest today in the art of William Morris than at any time since his death in 1896'.
