A fascinating study into the Khoikhoi people, South African non-Bantu speaking indigenous nomadic pastoralists.

The information from this work was extracted from the descriptions in the writings of Olfert Dappeer in 1668, Willem ten Rhyne in 1686, and Johannes Gulielmus de Grevenbroek in 1695.

The original texts translated, with an introduction and notes, by Isaac Schapera, and Benjamin Farrington.

Published by the Van Riebeeck Society, a South African society founded in 1918, aiming to republish historical primary sources.
