'Pervigilium Veneris' - or 'The Vigil of Venus' - is a Latin poem of uncertain date, variously assigned to the 2nd, 4th or 5th centuries. It is notable for its Romanticism, marking a transition between the poetry of the Classical Roman and medieval periods. It is here arranged for an orchestral setting by Geoffrey Higgens, set to music for soloists, chorus and orchestra.
Loosely inserted is a slip of paper offering a seasonal message 'To Laetitia', signed by the author.
