The very scarce signed first edition of this autobiographical celebration of Scottish sporting life from William Cavendish-Bentinck, the 6th Duke of Portland.

With the inscription 'With every fond wish from Portland 1933' to the front free endpaper.

Providing charming accounts of the Duke's time spent deerstalking, salmon fishing and grouse shooting between 1880 and 1932, this work is illustrated with a frontispiece, two folding maps, and thirty-five illustrated and photographic plates.

With the illustrated bookplate of Andrew T. Reid of Auchterarder', a small Scottish town north of the Ochil Hills, to the front pastedown.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with fading to the cloth in these regions, and scratches to the back strip. Light marks to front board. Bookplate to front pastedown, with author's inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
