A very scarce work by missionary and amateur ethnologist Dugald Campbell. With 25 illustrations, collated and complete. Alongside chapters on Lufira Valley, Johnston falls, and Luapula, Campbell also observes the language, customs, and culture of those he interacts with. Campbell was a Scottish pastor who's missions in Africa have been described in his other works 'In the Heard of Bantuland' and 'Wanderings in Central Africa'. Undated. Dated using JISC from a copy held in the National Library of Scotland.

Condition

In publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the boards and the spine. A little bumped to the head and the tail of the spine. Front hinge starting but firm. Foxing to the fore edge. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright with a few scattered spots.
