    First edition of this work. 

    In the publisher's original cloth binding, with labels to the front board and spine.

    Wonderfully illustrated throughout, including a monochrome frontispiece and fourteen further plates, eight of which are in colour. With numerous in-text illustrations. 

    Collated, complete. 

    Cecil Aldin was a British artist and illustrator, best known for his charming paintings and sketches of animals, sports and rural life. 

    This book showcases his illustrations, alongside variety of contributions from P. G. Wodehouse, Jack Hobbs and James Douglas, with humorous verses and commentaries on a range of topics. 

    Content includes 'Caravanning', 'Lawn Tennis', 'Beginning Hunting', and 'Bird Life'. 

    Condition

    In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. With light bumping to the extremities. Discolouration to the spine and slightly to the boards. Marks to the extremities. Instance of chipping to the spine label. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot and age toning to the endpapers. Owner's small contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
