A limited edition, number 10 of 100 signed copies, inscribed by Lady Alice Ludlow herself.

Illustrated with 91 hand-printed photogravures - the majority retaining their original tissue guard - with 41 tipped-in colour plates depicting the porcelain collection.

Collated, complete.

A beautiful catalogue including over three hundred examples of porcelain by Spode, Worcester, Bow, Chelsea, Chelsea-Derby, Lowestoft and other producers.

In a sumptuous full morocco binding with gilt detailing to front board. The back strip tail and front board feature the letter A in gilt, headed by a heraldic crown reminiscent of the coronet worn by Scottish Barons and Lords.

With the bookplate of W.A. Foyle of Beeleigh Abbey to the front pastedown. William Foyle founded Foyles bookshop in 1903 alongside his brother. He purchased Beeleigh Abbey during the Second World War, an impressive twelfth century monastery in Essex. Beeleigh housed his library, one of the largest private libraries in England.

Condition

In a full morocco binding. Externally, excellent, with back strip lightly age toned. Bookplate to front pastedown. Light marks to fore edge of front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
