A lovely first edition of this work by British racing driver Sammy Davis, who narrates of his career in the motor racing world from early days, with records of his first big race in England and numerous other races from 1921 to 1930, as well as a chapter dedicated to breaking records and an epilogue.
Illustrated with six maps, sketches in text by the author, and thirty-two full page photographs.
Condition
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over paper covered boards. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, with minor soiling to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint spotting to the fore edge, affecting only the occasional leaf, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with six maps and sketches in text by the author, as well as thirty-two full page plates.
