First edition. Darkie is unhappy at home; his brother is always right and he is always wrong. After a big argument with his parents, he decides to run away with his dog Bingo. Illustrated throughout with nine full-page illustrations. Written by Howard Spring, a Welsh author and journalist who produced a series of best-selling novels for adults and children. Illustrated by Norman Hepple, an English portrait painter, engraver, and sculptor, elected as an Associate Member to the Royal Academy of Arts in 1954.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light bumping to the extremities. Original clipped dust wrapper also smart with light chipping to the edges and the odd closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Age toning to the endpapers.
