A sample for the Golden Cockerel Press' 1932 limited edition work. The finished bound work was limited to three-hundred and seven copies, however this sample does not have a limitation page. The sample contains only the first sixteen pages, the full work's pagination being 40 pages.
'A German Idyll' is a fictionalised account of Bates' 1927 trip to Ibsen, Germany.

Written by H. E. Bates, a noted twentieth century novelist, best known for 'The Darling Buds of May'.
