What Our Customers Say...

Description

Limited Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

First published under the name 'The Escaped Cock', the name was published after Lawrence's death with this title, not fully approved by the author, who had insisted that the original title be used as a subtitle.

David Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930) was an English writer and poet, known for controversy caused by the sexual nature of his work, which at the end of his life was misunderstood, leading him to undertake self-imposed exile. His best know work was 'Lady Chatterley's Lover', which was banned in many Western countries due to its obscenity.

This is a limited edition, one of two thousand copies produced.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding, with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with some slight sunning to the spine. Dust wrapper has a few spots, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean, bar some offsetting to the endpapers.
