Containing selected writings by prominent golf figures such as Bernard Darwin, Charles Darwin's grandson, and a notable writer and amateur golfer in his own right and Joyce Wethered, who was commonly regarded as the leading female British golfer of the inter-war period. Part of 'The Lonsdale Library Series', with an advertisement for other volumes in the series to the front of the text. Collated, complete with numerous folding plates, four leaves of plates detached but present.
Condition
In publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Slightly bumped to extremities and head and tail of spine. Gilt lettering to tail of spine is slightly rubbed. Small ink mark to front board. Faint offsetting to free-endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound. Plates 13, 14 17 and 18 detached but present. Plates 27, 28 and 29 detached but present. Plates 46 and 49 detached but present. Plates 64 to 72 detached but present. Pages bright and clean with light spots to the fore-edge, not affecting the text. Light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages. Crease to upper corner of page 105.
