First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

The first edition copy of Post-Mortem by English playwright Noel Coward. This is a one act play in eight scenes written in 1930 after the author was moved by another play about WW1, Journey's End by R.C. Sherriff. 

The play deals with events happening during the First World War, touching subjects such as the glorification of war, the life of a soldier, the struggle and despair, and ultimately, the futility of it all. 

In the original publisher's purple cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the original publisher's purple cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine and publisher's stamp to rear board. Externally, very smart with only minor shelfwear and faint age toning to spine. Dustwrapper is also smart, with slight shelfwear and some small closed tears patched up by previous owner, not affecting the front of the wraps. Some sunning to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Small Banks of Cheltenham Ltd sticker internal to front board. Pages are bright and clean, with faint minor spotting to edges, not affecting the pages. dus
