Sir James George Frazer's collection of essays and reviews concerning a variety of subjects on comparative anthropology including burial customs, taboo, the language of animals, superstition, and more. Frazer was a Scottish folklorist, influential figure in modern studies of mythology and anthropology in the twentieth century. 

Featuring Adelaide Livingstone bookplate to the front pastedown, British human activist known for organising the Peace Ballot in 1934-5 with the aim to measure the national sentiment before the Second World War.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally generally sound with minor shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Damp markings to the boards and spine, boards slightly warped. Adelaide Livingstone bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally. firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
