An exciting edition of Shelley's 1818 Gothic Romantic-era novel, sometimes argued to be the first true science-fiction story, published when the author was only twenty years old. The 1931 film adaptation of the novel - the originator of the iconic imagery of Frankenstein's monster - was enormously popular upon release, and has since been preserved by the Library of Congress for its cultural and aesthetic significance.
