1931 Floor Games
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce
First published in 1911, this is the scarce 1931 edition of this work.
Illustrated with eight plates and numerous vignette illustrations from J. R. Sinclair. Collated, complete.
This light-hearted volume argues that "the jolliest indoor games for boys and girls demand a floor", with Wells offering instructions for a number of children's games that can be played on the floor, including war games and the constructions of cities.
The personal copy of celebrated English science fiction author Brian Aldiss, best known for his 'Helliconia' trilogy.
Aldiss was greatly influenced by Wells's work, and was vice-president of the international group in Wells' honour, the H.G. Wells Society.
Loosely inserted is a provenance notice signed by the executor of Aldiss's estate, his daughter Wendy.
