Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon
First edition of Essays in Persuasion by John Maynard Keynes in the original publisher's cloth binding.
An uncommon work in its first edition, with only six first editions held in libraries.
This is Keynes's first published collection of essays, including discussion of the peace treaty, inflation and deflation, the return to gold standard, and more general politics of the time.
Includes many reissues of articles written for highbrow magazines in the inter-war period such as 'The Nation' and 'Athenaeum', and later 'The New Statesman' and 'Nation', articles which were then published by newspapers all over the world.
An important work of economics and politics from the inter-war period by the majorly influential twentieth century economist and philosopher.
No dust wrapper present.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is slightly faded. There is some light spotting to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Many of the pages to the latter half are creased.
