The first edition. In the original paper wraps. Two copies of the Modern Publicity annual, showcasing different advertisements, graphic design and company branding used throughout that year. Edited by F. A. Mercer and W. Grant. Comprising of: 'Modern Publicity 1931', with eight advertisements to the front of the book, a colour frontispiece and numerous illustrations throughout. This work not only looks at graphic design in England, but world wide, including countries such as Germany, Russia, South America and Japan. 'Modern Publicity 1937-38', complete with the half title page, eleven full-page colour plates and eighteen pages of advertisements to the rear of the book. Collated complete. With additional illustrations throughout. The rear panel is loose.

Condition

In the original paper wraps. Externally, a trifle rubbed with shelf wear to the edges. Closed tears to the front panel and spine of the 1931 issue. Chipping and loss to the spine of the 1938 issue. Marks to the panels. Ink signature from previous owner to the front panel of the 1931 issue. The rear panel is loose with creasing for the 1938 issue. Hinges strained but still firm. Internally, the 1938 issue is strained but still firmly bound. The 1931 issue is firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with some handling marks throughout. Age-toning in the 1938 issue.
