Breeding Agriculture Country-Life Pursuits is number eight hundred and forty six of one thousand and is collated complete with twelve photogravures and many other vignette illustrations. Commerce and Industry is number six hundred and forty two of one thousand and is collated complete with eleven photogravures and many other vignette illustrations. Modern Commerce Transport Motoring and Aviation is number sixty one of one thousand and is collated complete with fifteen photogravures and many other vignette illustrations. Bound in the original publisher's morocco with gilt detail to the spine and boards. Modern Commerce Transport Motoring and Aviation was published in conjunction with the British newspaper 'Sporting Life', a twice-weekly, and then daily, periodical, best known for its coverage of horse and greyhound racing. The publication later went on to merge with the popular magazine Racing Post. In this comprehensive work, the work addresses pioneers in the fields of transport, motoring and aviation with reference to some of the notable achievements in the respective fields. Notable entries include reference to The Leyland Steam-Wagon; the development and growth of Rolls Royce; and the Sunbeam Racing Cars. Commerce and Industry is a thorough guide to the development of industries in the United Kingdom and covers the main areas of industry for which the country has been known, inclusive of mining, engineering, finance, textiles, transportation and industrial fishing. The work covers the most notable people within each industry, including Isambard Kingdom Brunel, James Watt and Sir Richard Arkwright, with details regarding their many and varied achievements. The work is a varied and fascinating guide to the development of industry. Breeding Agriculture and Country-Life Pursuits is edited by Sporting Life and Sportsmen and is a fascinating view of agriculture through the ages, which a specific focus upon the horse, as well as a variety of livestock, horticulture and notable field sportsmen. The particular equine focus, includes divisions based on breed with chapters on The Old English Cart Horse, Canadian Native Ponies, as well as South African and Australasian breeds. The work offers a focused insight into the development of agriculture, inclusive of the sporting aspects of the countryside. The set is a charming collection of three of this limited edition collection of works all based around British sports and sportsmen.

Condition

In uniform full morocco bindings with gilt detail to the spine and boards. Externally very smart, with slight rubbing to the extremities, joints and spine. The occasional light mark to the boards particularly to the front board of Commerce and Industry. Slight fading to spines.Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just marginal age toning to the extremities and the occasional spot, heavier to the first and last few pages and the tissue guards.
