This collection of short stories was written by Frederick Britten Austin (1885-1941), a writer whose works were mostly concerning war, having himself fought in the First World War.

Inscribed by the author to B. H. Liddell Hart 'from his pal & admin, F. Britten Austin'. Sir Basil Henry Liddell Hart (1895-1970) was a British soldier and military historian, who wrote a number of works which heavily influenced military strategists.

Illustrated with lino cuts by William Kermode.

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally lovely, just a touch faded to the spine. Presentation inscription to the front endpaper; ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
