An early printing of this poetry book by Robert Bridges, originally published before the author's death in 1929. This poem helped Bridges gain great popularity. With a publisher's note on the text bound in to rear. 

Robert Seymour Bridges was a British poet, who, despite not gaining popularity until shorty before his death, was made poet laureate from 1913 to 1930.

Illustrated with a frontispiece. 

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter vellum binding over marbled boards. Externally smart with minor shelf wear and a touch of edge wear, minor chipping to the extremities. A touch of soiling to the spine. Previous ownership inscription 'P R V Thomson,' dated 1937. Page 93 with a minor closed tear, previously tape repaired. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint spotting to the endpapers, otherwise the pages are bright with some marginal annotations in pencil throughout. Illustrated with a frontispiece.
