Illustrated with a frontispiece, six plates, and many head and tailpieces. Collated, complete.

An account of the voyage of the tramp steamer Capella from Swansea to Santa Maria de Belem do Grae Para, Brazil. With details of the further voyage along the forests of the Amazon and Madeira Rivers to the San Antonio Falls, returning to Barbados before heading to Jamaica, Tampa, and Florida.

Written by Henry Major Tomlinson, a British writer and journalist known for his anti-war and travel writing, especially of life at sea.

Illustrated by Clare Marie Veronica Leighton, an English-American artist, writer and illustrator, best known for her wood engravings.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Minor bump to back strip head, with fading to back strip and tail of front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
