    First Edition, Illustrated, Rebound

    The first edition, first printing.

    Smartly rebound. 

    A vivid travel work, 'Hot Countries' voyages through the Far East, West Indies, and the South Sea Islands, recounting the author's experiences travelling when he was a young man.

    Illustrated with a woodcut frontispiece, six woodcut plates, and woodcut headpieces, by Lynd Ward.

    Alec Waugh was the elder brother of Evelyn Waugh, Alec also being a prolific author known for his works on food and travels.

    Collated, complete.

    Condition

    Rebound in a quarter cloth binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart, with only a couple of very light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
